MAN Engines: Lorenz Panknin new sales manager for Rail Engines
Sale of engines for rail vehicles
Lorenz Panknin (43), previously Off-Road Key Account Manager focusing on agriculture at MAN Engines, took on the role of Head of Sales for Rail Engines within the Off-Road market segment on 1 October 2017. This means that his area of responsibility now includes the sale of engines for rail-based vehicles, such as diesel railcars, locomotives and track-laying vehicles. He succeeds Günther Zibes, who will be responsible for the entire Power market segment within the MAN Engines Business Unit with imme-diate effect.
Panknin graduated from Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences with a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Business Administration and Engi-neering, specialising in sales. After several years of international sales expe-rience in the capital goods industry, Panknin made the switch to engine sales at MAN Engines in 2010, where he worked on important high-volume projects with major international customers. Panknin reports to Hubert Gossner, Head of Off-Road MAN Engines.
