Development of the 9 litre engine MAN D1556 for agricultural applications
In 2019, MAN launched a newly developed engine with a displacement of 9 liters. In addition to traditional applications for trucks and coaches, the industrial version has been presented at the same time. For its first application in the off-highway segment, the engine is used in agricultural tractors, where SCR-only combustion and exhaust gas aftertreatment have been completely revised and adapted. The MAN D3876 was presented as a completely new and standalone engine series from MAN in 2014. This 15.26 l in-line 6-cylinder engine has replaced the previous MAN D2868 16.2 l V8 engine in the commercial vehicles sector and will also gradually replace the V8 engine in off-road applications with the introduction of the new emission categories.
MAN D3876 LE12x satisfies emission standards US EPA Tier 4 final/CARB and EU stage V
MAN Engines will display its D3876 LE12x 6-cylinder engine at the Agritechnica in Hannover. The power unit was mainly developed for agricultural purposes. The motor satisfies the tight emission standards US EPA Tier 4 final/CARB and EU IV, but is also ready for EU Stage V.
MAN Engines will present its D2862 LE13x 12-cylinder engine for use in agricultural technology applications at the Agritechnica in Hanover. It complies with the strict emissions standard US EPA Tier 4 final/CARB and it's ready for EU Stage V.
